AAFSW, Global Expatriate Websites, The Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide provides a wealth of practical information for the expatriate or those thinking about moving overseas.

Allo Expat, An active and impressive web community of expats, covering over 85 countries, all 5 continents, and hundreds of forums, topics, and resources. If the web had speed dial, this one would be on ours...Well worth a look.

At Home Abroad, published by the International Herald Tribune, is a monthly online publication providing useful articles and glimpses into life overseas for the expatriate or the expat wannabe, with sections on global living, health, taxes, education, investment, employment, and more.

The Big Guide to Living and Working Overseas, based on the popular book by Jean-Marc Hachey, Transitions Abroad’s international careers editor. Hachey’s website provides free access some of the useful advice from the book for those seeking to live and work overseas. You can also buy print and online versions of the book through the website.

Boomers Abroad, is a resource for potential retirees to find the best choice for retiring abroad. The focus is on low-cost, warm, and friendly countries, including Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, and Uruguay.

British Expat, is an online magazine site for expatriate Brits. With nearly 20% of Brits saying they want to leave the country when they retire, this is one of the main resources to help them on their way.

BritishExpats.com, not to be confused with BritishExpat.com, is a full-featured resource for British expatriates around the world. The site includes general discussion forums, blogs, articles, photo gallery, classifieds, a chatroom and more.

CanuckAbroad.com, is designed for the Canadian expatriate, but provides information and resources - including a forum - which are equally useful to people from the US and elsewhere.

Easy Expat, provides practical and yes, easy information for expatriates on subjects such as careers and jobs overseas, moving abroad, taxes, accommodations, healthcare, international schools, childcare, repatriation, and social life.

Escape Artist is a HUGE expatriate web site providing resources, links, and information about moving abroad and living overseas. Publishes the free monthly “Escape from America" e-magazine as well as several other real estate-focused publications. It's a bit unwieldy and easy to get lost in this site, but clicking on just about any link will unlock a treasure trove of even more articles, links, and resources to savor and learn from.

EuroExpats is an Internet portal for the expats living in Europe.

Expat Communities, is a worldwide directory with listings of helpful resources, forums, organizations, groups, and contacts for the expatriate.

Expat Exchange, is one of the bigger expatriate sites online. It offers a wealth of resources and articles from and for expatriates all over the world.

Expat Expert, is a pleasant, well-organized site that provides useful articles and information for the expatriate, resources about going and living abroad, as well as information and advice for surviving "re-entry" as you return home.

Expat Focus, provides news, information, and advice for the expatriate. The site also hosts an online community with forums and blogs. The site owners are also the moderators of the Yahoo discussion group “Expat Focus.”

Expat Forums, offers a number of forums, and a bulletin board for members to discuss issues and questions related to expatriate life.

Expat Network, is an online resource for expatriates living and working abroad; features a job board and forums.

Expat Stuff, provides goods, services, information, and tools for the expatriate.

Expat Weekly Telegraph, is an online section of the Weekly Telegraph (U.K.) dedicated to expatriate living, with resources, news, articles, and information.

Expatriates.com, provides an extensive resource directory, discussion boards, and much more for the expatriate or those thinking about it.

Expatica, this Netherlands-based site provides resources for those living and working in Europe, mainly the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, and Belgium. They also publish an online newsletter and the annual Expat Survival Guide with basic information on living abroad.

Family Life Abroad, is an informative (often humorous) site for the expatriate by experienced expatriates on every aspect of daily life abroad, with lots of tips, advice, and links throughout

FirstGov — Americans Living and Traveling Abroad, part of the U.S. government’s main web portal provides information on formalities and legal aspects of living abroad; a very comprehensive and highly practical web resource for the expatriate.

iAgora, is an online marketplace mainly for younger people interested in working or studying in Europe, with job listings, housing resources, and forums.

International Living, offers information and advice about retiring, living, buying real estate, investing, and starting a business overseas. They've built quite a tidy business offering in-depth reports and conferences about buying property and investing abroad.

Living Abroad, is an expatriate membership site with a focus on business.

Meetup, lists group meetings in cities around the world to help bring people with common interests together and promote the development of active local communities.

Network for Living Abroad, is a community for sharing experiences and tips for studying, working, volunteering or retiring abroad. Resources include links to other sites pertaining to expatriate life, in-country contacts, employment, volunteer opportunities, etc.

Newcomers Club Worldwide Directory, is a worldwide directory of newcomers clubs for the newly arrived expatriate.

Outpost Expatriate Network, is an expat resources for relocating Shell employees, but it is also very useful for expatriates in general.

Overseas Digest, provides resources for living, studying and working abroad; also publishes a weekly online newsletter.

Transitions Abroad is a magazine and web portal for Work Abroad, Study Abroad, Overseas Cultural Travel and Living. It's loaded with resources for people who want to teach English overseas or who want to volunteer on a project abroad. Highly recommended.
