How the Series Was Created

Homeworld was conceived when Executive Producer, Sasha Owen, wanted to buy a home on the beach. After looking at real estate prices in the US, he Googled "Cheapest place to live on Earth" and came up with a list of interesting places he didn't know anything about. Sasha also didn't really know anything about buying property abroad, so instead of buying a place of his own, he created this series to help him (and you) learn how it all works in different countries around the world.

The Homeworld series stars popular television presenter Howard Stableford, of the BBC's flagship science and technology program "Tomorrow's World." With his characteristic humor and warm intelligence, Howard introduces you to interesting and brave expats who've already made the move, finding out what the process was like for them, and getting their insights into what it takes to actually seek, find, buy, build/renovate, and live in the home of their dreams overseas.
